Sudarshan Pattnaik Honored With People’s Choice Award in America

The great and famous Indian sand artist Sudarshan Pattnaik, has been awarded the People’s Choice Award in America.

Total 15 artists from across the world, including Sudarshan Pattnaik, were selected to showcase their art at the 16th Reverse Beach International Sand Sculpting Festival held in Boston. In this festival, Mr. Patnaik was representing the whole of Asia. Mr. Pattnaik, received the most honorable Padmashree award in 2014 from former Indian President Pranab Mukarjee.

At Boston he won the heart of the audience through his artwork. He made his sand art on the global issue of plastic pollution with the message inscribed ‘Save Our Ocean’, this year. He was taken 3 days to prepare the basic model.

After winning the people choice award, he dedicated the award to the entire nation. In his art he showed the turtle trapped in a plastic bag and the slippers, bottles, etc. stuck in the fish belt. Fishtail was shown in the mouth of a human. His message was that not only the marine creatures are affected by plastic pollution, humans are also affected.
